Meet Karshyra Marshall
CEO + FOUNDER
Karshyra Marshall is the CEO/Founder of Breathe Ohio Inc. Born in Hartford, CT and currently residing in Columbus. Ohio. Karshyra Marshall graduated from Bethune-Cookman University in Daytona Beach, FL before returning to Ohio for her Master’s to attend Franklin University’s Healthcare Administration Program. Marshall has over 15 years of healthcare experience in Pharmacy, Research, Bedside Manner and Customer Service. Marshall having Asthma, created a non-profit, community-based organization that focuses on meeting the needs of individuals who suffer from Asthma & COPD. Marshall’s goal along with her future partners is to strive to address major challenges that African American and other underserved communities have systematically faced with Asthma/COPD and their health. To focus her efforts, she has prioritized these impact goals to guide their policy, capacity building, mobilization and advocacy work. Karshyra looks forward to increasing Asthma/COPD capacity and leadership in the Midwest region. Along with an increase seen in the number of African American and other underserved populations who learn their Asthma/COPD triggers and symptoms earlier and access culturally competent Asthma/COPD care and treatment services.
TYSHAWN ALEXANDER
President
TyShawn Alexander is a native of Columbus, Ohio. Upon graduating from high school, he attended the University of Cincinnati. After moving back to Columbus in 2011, TyShawn made the decision to return to school; changing his focus from a childcare background to the field of healthcare. In 2015, TyShawn received his diploma from The Heritage College in Hospital and Healthcare Management Services. TyShawn is committed to making a difference not only in the community as a whole but in the young professional communities. TyShawn is striving to help advocate pathways for younger African Americans so that they will be able to make the right decisions and not be a just a number in the system. He serves as President for Breathe Ohio Inc, and a member on the board for the Columbus African Council. The African American Council was created as a space for communities of the African descent in Columbus to honor and empower their beautifully distinctive cultures. Currently, he is employed by ASUR Supported Living as Director, and with Columbus City Schools as an Instructional Aide: Special Education. Even with all of he does, TyShawn is currently a student at Regent University majoring in Christian Education with a minor in Business Administration. TyShawn has a heart for God and for people. He also serves as a Youth/Young Adult Leader, Minister of Music and media and arts department leader in his local church. In addition, TyShawn coaches’ girls Track & Field for Walnut Ridge High School.

Secretary Ileen Brown is a Columbus, Ohio native. A Kentucky State University Alum, with a background in Communications she has several years of experience of bringing collective unity to groups.
